How to use it:

Before starting, ensure your dog's coat is suitable for hand stripping (not previously cut).

  1. Prepare your dog: Make sure your pet is relaxed and comfortable with grooming. Avoid bathing your dog before stripping, as it can make their hair to be too slippery.
  2. Remove knots and mats: Brush through the coat with a brush or a comb to get rid of any knots or mats.
  3. Begin stripping: Hold the stripping knife with the smooth side of the blade facing you. Keep the skin taut close to the area you're working on for your dog's comfort.
  4. Follow the grain: Use a combing action to catch the hair between the serrated teeth. Hold the hair in place with your thumb and gently pull in the direction of the coat's lay, using an arm and shoulder pulling motion.
  5. Work methodically: Strip the coat section by section until the entire outer coat is removed. Use the Stripping Knife to strip your dog’s coat every 4-6 weeks for a beautifully "rolled coat."
